Super Heroes of Justice
Project Description:
In super heroes of justice the goal was to create a comic book with a partner, and the comic book was supposed to inform people about real life issues and inspire them to take a stand. My partner was Nico and we decided to do our comic book about bullying. Some other popular issues were gender equality, immigration, and gay rights. When we started making our comics the first step was to research, we researched well known bullying stories and got some statistics on bullying and suicide. Then we started developing our characters and their back stories, we analyzed what it means to be a hero and what it means to be a villain. We decided to have Ariana as our superhero, Willie as our victim and Billy as the bully/villain. We started developing the back story of Billy and what made him be so mean. Then we wrote the script of the comic book which is basically what each character is going to say, when and on what panel. After the script was written we did a first draft drawing of our characters. Then we started thumb nailing which is basically doing the general outline of our panels, like placing the characters and speech bubbles. After that we started our fist draft, with everything combined together. Then we got critique, after that we started working on our final draft. Most people traced over their first draft but my partner and I decided to just have me re draw it on the new pieces of paper and then he would color. After the final draft was done Ms. Emily took it to someone who could scan the final drafts and re print them out so they looked more professional. The only thing was a lot of us spent a lot of time coloring the backgrounds of all the panels and if you used a light color it totally wouldn't have showed up. But in the end I think the comic books ended up looking okay for the amount of time we had to complete them.
