How I am evolving as a scientist...My expectations going into biology was that it was going to be really confusing and hard, because I hadn’t had a science class since fourth grade. I expected it to be a very big challenge and it kind of worried me because I knew that you can’t really fake knowing this kind of stuff. A memorable event of when my perspective of what it means to be a scientist was changed was when we did a lot of observation and focused more on drawing. I didn’t understand how this would help us with the scientific stuff but then I realized that when you draw something you can make deeper observations of it because you are looking at it for so long, and having deeper observations can help you form your hypothesis or develop conclusions from your experiment. So art is actually a lot more related to science than I thought. I have evolved as a scientist this semester by going out of my comfort zone, making connections, and being more detailed in my thoughts.
